Tom Scott's latest effort on the current peace talks
So its clear Tom is trying to show bias by the US, and blaming Israel for something.
Maybe he could have drawn something that demonstrates Palestinian violence and recalcitrance, but this would be inconsistent with his usual bias. At least he wasn't anti-semitic this time, I would have hated to complain to the HRC.

Metiria Turei shows how to complain against racist cartoons
In her recent Frogblog post, Metiria Turei has showed us exactly how we can complain over racist cartoons.
Now, I actually agree with Metiria here. As some may know, I actually grew up with Metiria, she visited our house on many occasions as she was friends with my sister.
I also have the following three cartoons I would like to complain about that have been published in New Zealand newspapers from Malcolm Evans, Tom Scott and Hodgson.

I will lodge a complaint, and see if I too get a response.
This is my complaint to the Human Rights Commissioner. I emailed it to the HRC at 12.26pm and received an acknowledgement at 2.26pm. I’m not sure what information the HR Commissioner was using when she said her office had received no complaints by 1pm, especially as the Mana Party had also complained and received acknowledgement of it before that time. I’m also unclear as to how she can make a determination that the complaints are without substance without first reading them, giving consideration to the content of the complaints and considering the applicable law.Bloody dismal, franklyDame Susan Devoy

30 May 2013Tēnā koe, Dame SusanWe respectfully request the Human Rights Office to address the publication of two cartoons appearing in both the Marlborough Express and The Christchurch Press today. The cartoons concern the Government’s recently announced Food in Schools programme.Specifically the cartoons depict a Polynesian family using the breakfast in schools programme as a method to save money for cigarettes, alcohol and gambling. I believe this cartoon may infringe the Human Rights Act, specifically section 61 which makes it unlawful to publish material which is threatening, abusive or insulting and likely to incite hostility against a group of people on the grounds of their colour, race or ethnicity.I strongly believe in a free and independent press, whose critique of government policy is crucial to our democracy but that freedom comes with a responsibility not to incite hatred against people, let alone breach the law.I believe that this public attack on families in need will incite hostility against New Zealand children, growing up in poverty and who will benefit from the Breakfast at School programme. It encourages the public to view them and their families, particularly Maori and Pasifika families, in a derogatory frame. This is harmful, irresponsible and unlawful. We understand that under the Bill of Rights, offensiveness of a race related comment is not sufficient on its own to constitute an offence. Our understanding is that the comment must also be a probable cause of ethnic hostility or contempt. We believe this to be the case in this instance. In March this year the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination welcomed the government’s recognition that structural discrimination is partly responsible for the persistent poor outcomes that the members of the Maori and Pasifika communities experience in the fields of employment, health and the administration of criminal justice. The Committee recommended that the government intensify its efforts to improve the outcomes of the Maori and Pasifika in the fields of employment, health and in the administration of criminal justice by, among other things, addressing the existing structural discrimination. This type of publication encourages the underlying racial prejudice that can drive structural discrimination.Given the public interest in this matter we would appreciate a response at your earliest convenience
Yours sincerelyMetiria Tūrei

Good Tom Scott cartoon
Would you believe it, Tom Scott has actually produced a cartoon which appears to acknowledge Israel's right to self defence!
This is very refreshing. Many cartoonists such as Malcolm Evans usually show the opposite - they deplore the criticisms of Syria, and suggest it should be diverted to Israel. Tom Scott is lampooning exactly that attitude here. Well done!

Tom Scott lies again
Tom Scott has returned to his base. Complete lies.
This is his fourth cartoon on Israel in a week. In that time, was there nothing else in the world? 900+ people died in Syria during that time. This is Israel criticism ad nauseum.
He is blatantly distorting the facts. 90% of Israelis agreed with Military action during Operation Pillar of Defense.
Of all his cartoons on the Gaza operation, not one has mentioned the Motorcycle killings. Why doesn't he mention that people of Gaza are not free from Hamas? Where are the protesters against Hamas violence?
Bibi is about to face an election. We'll see if Tom Scott is accurate then.

Tom Scott - "Victory" in Gaza?
Tom Scott comes out with a post which I just don't get.
What is he trying to say?
Is he trying to show the irony of Hamas' "Victory" chants at a cost to themselves? (good)
Or, is he trying to show that Hamas have scored a Victory, and their will is not bent even after a pummelling. (bad)
I really don't know. I hope the first one.

Tom Scott on Obama and Israel
A very poor post from Tom Scott. His favourite topic of Israel is getting a hammering this week.
Oh, give me a break. Obama helped secure the ceasefire. What's he going to do, praise Hamas terrorism and condone the use of Human Shields?
What is Tom Scott trying to say here? I think the criticism is getting to him, because all of his cartoons are very cryptic these days.

Tom Scott's take on Operation PoD
This is Tom Scott's submission for Operation Pillar of Defense
It's a little bit less blatant than his past attempts. One could even suggest that he is not taking sides, although he appears to be trying to diminish the impact of the rockets. At least he is accurate in showing that they are launched from within densely populated areas.

Is Tom Scott starting to wake up?
Tom Scott's latest cartoon on the Israel - Iran issue is here:
Instead of his usual of simply attacking Israel or being racist, this time he attacks both Ahmadinejad and Netanyahu.
And he is acknowledging that Ahmadinejad is a dangerous and violent nutcase.
But here's the question - given the vile attack on Israel and threat to his existence, what does he suggest Israel say at the UN? Why should Netanyahu have his "medication doubled"?

Tom Scott - The dumbest man in the world
Tom Scott finally releases a cartoon which criticises Ahmadinejad:
The Dumbest man in the world, who is shown propping up the brutal Assad regime, is also building a nuclear arsenal. Isn't it about time you criticised him instead of Netanyahu?

Tom Scott just can't help himself
No news means Tom Scott has to draw an attack on Israel. Arguably this is criticising Netanyahu and not all Jews (like his last one). Still a pretty poor effort.
I think all of Israel would rejoice if Iran only was after peaceful propagation of technology.
Any chance Tom Scott could do some cartoons lampooning Ahmadinejad? It has been a while.
Somthing like Sacha Baron Cohen's "We are only acquiring nuclear technology for peaceful purposes... pppphhht! guffaww... seriously, who writes this stuff?".

A Tom Scott cartoon that makes sense
Many Tom Scott cartoons are stupid or pig ignorant. This one actually makes sense, and contrasts against the Hodgson cartoon I commented on.

Tom Scott's latest anti semitic cartoon
Here is Tom Scott's latest Anti Semitic Cartoon.
Also here and here
I like the star of David on the cuff of the shirt. Clearly reference to Jews.
See how it shows that Obama is in the pocket of an unseen Jewish big brother. Probably the Elders of Zion. Or is it just suggesting Jews are corrupt. It forgets to tell us that Palestinians are refusing to talk or recognise Israel.
This kind of garbage would be spiked by most editors worldwide. In New Zealand, and because its Tom Scott, its OK.
